It’s now been almost two years since The Caregiving Zone was published. In the interim I have been a member of various caregiving teams; worked at a for-profit home care agency; been the recipient of a Jefferson Award for Community Service and given talks on my favorite subjects: illness, aging, dying and death.
I have also been considering how to take my work to the next level. I decided to go for a Graduate Certificate in Geriatric Care Management through the University of Florida (online course). This will bring my MA in the psychology and physiology of aging (Goddard) up-to-date. I look forward to more opportunities to be of service with a whole new toolkit! I just joined the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers (www.caremanager.org).
Perpetual learner that I am, I have had a ball with on-line library access to geriatric and gerontological journals. I am reading some amazing stuff.
Which brings me to why I decided to do a blog. I want to share what I am learning.
So here goes! All comments appreciated.
